If you still have the HF intake manifold, and ECU, you might want to upgrade them to Si parts as well.

To make it even more snappy than an SI transmission, you need to get a hybrid tranny. ZCtransmission with SI final drive or SI transmission with ZC gears achieve the same goal - short final drive of SI with short, closed spaced gears of ZC.
Plug: I'm selling one in classifieds.

I wish the 5th gear in the SI was a bit higher.....oh well, the lower 4 rock from stop light to stop light. Just ask any of the Mustangs I've spanked around town.

I've never driven with an Si tranny, but I always figured that high of gearing in a car with maybe 110 hp was kinda dumb. I'm talking about 1/4 mile though. The DX tranny would accelerate a lot quicker, althought you'd have to shift like nothing else. I figured that a ratio that high would kinda bog the motor if you didn't have the power.

When I ran my Civic with full interior, a guess of 120hp with a D15B7, I barely even got into third before the 1000 ft mark at 14 flat. I'd hate to see what I would do with an Si. I'd most likely either be ragging it out in 2nd or cluctching for 3rd in the 1/4.

Uhhh but the DX has much higher gearing than the Si. Actually the gears are the same but the final drives are different.

Yes the DX and Si have the same transmission except for the final drive. The Si is 4.25 and the DX is 3.88....
