Default !CHP sucks!...ATTN: People that had sucess contesting tickets (speeding)...!CHP sucks!

Friend was driving my car, we get on the onramp for the 5 fwy, I told him to gun it saying there are never any CHP here...I've never seen one at this location. Anyways, he takes it up to 75 as he gets on the freeway, then about a mile later, we get pulled over. My friend gets a ticket for speeding (86) and I asked the cop how he got that speed. He laughs and says he was pacing us. I'm confused, my friend is pissed and he signs the ticket and we leave angry. Does it mean anything if the CHP was a sergeant??? So...the question is, should my friend fight it? I know that some people have had tickets thrown out where the speed was estimated by pacing, how have you guys gone about doing that??? Any tips would be appreciated b/c my friend is placing the guilt on me for telling him to not worry about CHP in the area, so I'm helping him with it. He doesn't want a point on his record, but doesn't want to pay a stupid fine and go to traffic school for the ticket marked at 86. Reason we know we weren't going 86, the digital readout on the car is in red and pretty big, not 86. ahhh.

true, the traffic school is the safest way out with/out a point on his license, but he has to fork over $175+ and 8 hours of his time. The thing is, if there is a good chance of contesting the ticket, then it's worth the risk. Both my friend and I wouldn't be so pissed had he written the real speed down (75) not 86. We know we were going over the limit, not that the flow of traffic here is at a constant 65, everyone goes faster, but that's not a good argument for contestingt the ticket. Technically you can get a ticket for 2mph over the limit!!! My friend just needs any help or info or tips from anyone that had a speeding ticket thrown out when the method used to judge speed was pacing. How can he prove pacing is an inaccurate way of determining speed??

Dude...I had one friend who recieved a ticket and took one of those "at home" traffic school. He had to go to Blockbuster video and get some sort of video misc. I think it came out to around $50 and it's equivalent to an "actual" traffic school.
Another friend of mine took an online traffic school to remove the point on his driving record, but I think it was a little more expensive, around $100. Go check it out.

I'll pay $175 if you let me drive your stook Ardy
