Rear brake-pad install tip - second bolt on shield
For what its worth. This may save some people some frustration.
I dont know how many people have the same problem, but on the rear brakes theres a e-brake shield that has to be removed to change the brake pads.
The second bolt on it is next to the shock, and its too close to get a ratchet on it. Also, the shield is contoured so every time you put a wrench on it and start to turn it, the wrench comes off the bolt.
After coming an inch from throwing a wrench through my windshield we noticed that the metal by the second bolt is relatively thin. You can just take out the top bolt on the shield, and bend the shield back instead of worrying about the second bolt.
Pretty simple tip, but it took awhile to figure it out

I've never had a problem with taking it off using a regular 10mm box wrench, even with the slight bend/offset in the wrench.
Ratcheting box wrench makes it a lot easier.

What kind of pads did you put on her John? Also, little off the topic, but have you gotten your car preteched for VIR yet? And do you know of anywhere that you have used where I can get a custom alignment done? I know you're getting excited about next weekend
