can i run a mini me engine with a obd0 harness/ecu
i need some help here guys. I have a zdyne gold ecu and i am getting a 91 crx si block with a d16y8 head. I really want to be able to run my zdyne that will only work with the obd0 setup. I am pretty sure i can send it back to get the vtec activation switch. here are some things i have heard can people comment/verify
need to use si injectors (in my case 450cc dsm's)
need to use si tps
run some wires for knock sensor, oil presure and second O2
I did a search and i am still a little confused. thanks guys, your always saving my ***

OK. If you are using Zdyne for OBD0 you need to keep the injectors you are currently using. those are perfectly fine with the mini-me. 450cc injectors are WAY too much for a naturally aspirated engine ( you don't mention turbo)
You can use any tps as long as it is not a TPS from a DPFI engine.
You do not need a knock sensor, it is only on the VTEC DOHC engines and other honda engines, not in the D series engines.
If you already have a MPFI D Series engine with Zdyne OBD0 ECU then this is what you need.
Put the engine in.
Use the harness you already have
Use the injectors and distributor you already have
Get a VTEC controller and that's all you need to run VTEC.
If you get a VTEC controller, you don't have to run the oil press switch wire since the ECU doesn't look for it anyways. You don't need extra O2 sensors, nor Knock sensor (the D series don't have it).
All you need to run is one wire from the VTE controller to the VTEC solenoid. That's it.

Great that is very helpful. I will be running a turbo, the t25. I think i may just send my ecu back to zdyne to get the vtec controler installed....i think its only like 35$ then i could program it with the laptop. While were on the turbo subject the engine i am buying has LS rods, how much hp/boost can those take. they are on unspecified 9:1 pistons. I do have an extra set of crower rods/JE pistons but i really don't want to have to rebuild this engine(my zc just locked up on me) thanks for the help
