Does anyone know where i can get tech info for the new VAFC II From Apex-i?? I know it's smaller and now it's black, but

did they change any of the functions?
Add anything new??
Is it better than the first?

If not, i can get some of you guys a sick deal on the VAFC I. IF so, i will be buying the new one!

 

it has a 8point fuel curve and a knock sensor.

OK GUYS! I found out some things about the VAFC II

1. it has 12 point fuel correction
2. an "integrated" knock sensor
3. It now has 2 seperate programmable fuel curves
3. it comes in black and the silver / blue

thats all i know for now
anyone have real data to add to this???

I just got mine installed last night.

 

Should I get a regular VAFC 1 now that the 2nd one is out? Im sure VAFC 1's are going to go down in price...but is the 2nd one worth buying?

You guys noted that the VAFCII can read the knock sensor. My question does it do anything once it reads the knock sensor, other than beep "e.g. Add more fuel..change the MAPI voltage to change where the ECU reads it ignition timming and fuel to stop the knocking.

It a sensor the looks for a knocking or ping in the motor when it is detonationing or pre-ignitioning.

 

yeA "knock Sensor" senses the beginnings of detonation - (too much to explain that also) which is a knock or ping. I really don't think the VAFCII has any ability to do anything about it though, seeing as how it would have to retard the ignition timing. i may contact APEXi just to find out for sure. i will let you guys know

 

Some detonation can occur when your running too lean so maybe the VAFCII tries to stop the ping by adding more fuel.

 

anyone know where to get the vafc-II in black. all i have seen in black is the safc-II

 

So what's the difference between the VAFC2 and SAFC2? I know one has vtec control in it but does it have everything the safc has? I've seen some people run both (?!)

 

Did anyone find the answer to the question if the VAFC II does anything about the Knock or it just detects it??
