God im a ******* IDIOT. no more than 10 minutes ago i pull into my driveway and ******* run into the trailer hitch in the driveway. so now there is like a 2x2 inch HOLE in the hood of my car
okay, so its not a hole, i dont think it dented but ALL the paint got stripped off. I planned on getting small nicks and dings fixed soon so now i really have to..... does anyone have estimates on how much people normally charge for detailing??????

A full exterior detail typically runs $100-$150 around here depending on what you want. But if you chipped and or scratched the paint, you need to take it to a body shop, not a detailer...

Hehehe, sorry to hear that. The last time I got some work done on my EBP painted 4th gen, it was around 500$. Of course there's a lot more work than just "filling in the chip." They had to repaint the entire front bumber, blend it in to both fenders and blend it in halfway through the hood. Of coure that's what you get when you have a metalic pearl paintjob. You should be able to get it done for considerably less if it's just a solid color. GL!

if u're planning on fixing ur entire hood, i'd opt for a cf hood. better buy in my opinion. and if you just want a detailing, honda does it for $99. that's inside, outside, and engine bay.
if you got a hole in your hood than you might need to replace it unless the shop can fix it. probably $200-$300 to paint, more to repair + paint.
i just got my front bumper and driver side fender repainted. it cost me $591. god damn 3 stage paint!
what color is your car? your best bet is a CF hood. weight reduction and it dissipate heat better than stock hoods.

Here's a picture of the dent... It's not a HOLE, i was being sarcastic. if it cost over like 200-300 to fix i'll probably go with a CF hood. but i think CF on a black car looks funny. The picture isnt very good quality, but it is a small dent, its not just chipped paint
i have a dent on my hood and i`ve been quoted 400 for a new hood from one shop, and 100 from another shop to remove the dent. I was gonna go with a CF hood, but i`ve heard they like to flap around at high speeds, and i think hoodpins take away from the looks of the car.

so you like it better when the hood doesnt match the car? is a cf hood on a black car too low key?

Mine isnt as bad, nothing happened to the paint. Most shops will tell you that you will either need to replace the hood, or repair it which involves stripping the paint, repairing any damage that may have been done, repainting, and clearcoating. In the end your still looking at 200 bucks at the least to fix it. CF looks sick on black cars, but hoodpins look like *** in my opinion.
