Default Comptech Header WILL NOT INSTALL!!

Well, after a few hours of work (including a trip to sears) I was able to get all the old rusty bolts off of my stock header and get it out of the engine bay. Then, I went to install my comptech header which I purchased of a fellow HT member. My friend and I tried to make it fit for 45 minutes and it will not go on the studs that come off of the block. It keeps rubbing against the radiator, and will not slide onto the studs. Also, the bottom lines up a few inches past the cat and I can tell that no matter what the flange that comes off the header (near the 02 sensor) will not be able to bolt on to the holes provided by the flange that comes off of the bottom of the car. This header was originally bought for a Type R. I was assured by the seller that it would bolt up to a 94 GSR. I can't get it to fit, why? I will snap some pics tommorow.

210-002: part number for 94-99 GSR
210-001: part number for 97-01 Type R

Talk about getting OWNED!

it should fit...it might be off a couple inches (there were different length header/cats on certain years) but should fit, unless it's the longtube race header.

my guess is it's hanging up on the bottom mounting bracket.

haha...i actually went through the opposite situation last week -- i installed a header for a GSR on my type r. it should definitely bolt up to the head -- you might need to modify the cat, though.
to get it to line up, did you take off the lower splash shields?

haha, to make life easier, want to trade straight up for my RS*R header? it'll bolt strait up.

I think we pushed the AC condenser fan up a little bit and removed the clutch slave cylinder on Josh's car to install his Comptech header. The primaries seem to come away from the head further out than other headers before turning downwards.

You can always take the car to an exhaust shop and have them shorten the B-pipe by a few inches and then reweld the 3-bolt flange back onto the end of the shortened B-pipe.

When you did this with the ac and slave cylinder what car were you installing what header on.

I was thinking of doing that, if I keep the header. No I haven't removed the splash shields. If I do this will I be able to get it to bolt to the studs? If so I will just do that then drive open header to the muffler shop -wahhh-

yea dude...it will bolt up but the ls and type r headers are slightly longer than gsrs. but the bolt patterns should be exactly the same.

it depends on the year of your integra. after year 2000 gsr uses same header as type r, but year before 2000 gsr header will not identical to type-r. so if your integra is before 2000, it will not bolt on.

you are all wrong. the header on the 94-99 gsr's are all the same. the header on the 94-99ls and type r are idntical in length, the 2000-2001 gsr header is the same lentgh as the 94-99 header but also has a bung hole for an o2 sensor in it.
