Default VALVE ADJUSTMENT

HEY WHATS GOIN ON GUYS, GOT SOME MORE QUESTIONS... my freind is runnin a crvtec and the valves are always really really chadery..... it was like this when it was a b-16 also....and like when we adjust them they come outta adjustment in like 50-100 miles....what would make this happen.... some people have told me that the valve springs are gettin warn out... but its a low mileage motor? well im at a loss...

You may want to change the adjusting screws. They shouldn't be expensive.

i have pretty much the same problem with my b16, i was thinking replacing the springs would help but i am not sure... i figure ill want to do it eventually anyway!

what are the pro and cons of adjusting the valve too tight? if it has some advantage, is it worth doing it?

A little OT but what do you set the valve lash at with aftermarket cams?

if u adjust them to tight it will not run....well it will but only on some cylinders LOL.... but at nerate y do they come outta adjustment so fast and ez....

I run .007 on both I/E with JUN III cams. As far as the lash coming out of adjustment that fast--- I would check the screws and nuts to make sure they are getting tightened, pull a spring and see where it is as far as bind, force etc.. then compare that to new specs. Check the retainers while they are out... look for wear. What cams are you running?

The valve clearance will tighten up as the motor heats up,so if you adjust them too tight when the motor is cold,when the motor gets hot ,the valves will not close and you will have a vacuum leak and the motor will run poorly and stall.You will eventually burn a valve.
