I've been using Royal Purple 5W30 for about a year. I switched from Mobil 1 synthetic and it was WAY better. I also noticed a small - SMALL - difference at the track.

From what I hear it uses a good quantity of molybdenum in the mix, which is a good anti-wear additive. I don't know about synerlec or whatever other stuff that's in there, but it gets a from me in my engine. Keep in mind I'm not turbo'd though

I pay about $6 a bottle CDN, which is about $4 USD, per litre.

i run 20w50 RP in both our civics and seems to work great. keeps the oil pressure up nicely.

Motor,
Why so thick? I have always used 10w30 RP in my car. Just wanting to know your reasoning.

On a side note, I am a firm believer in this stuff. I have used it for about 7 years now. It all started when I was into Crotch Rockets and having my Pipe installed and the carbs jetted. We did a base dyno run on the bike (tuned) with the new pipe (This was with Mobil 1 10w40, recommended weight of the manufacturer). I had bought some of this Royal Purple just to try. I figured this was a good time to do it so I brought it with me. We then put the correct amount of Royal Purple in (Same weight) and did another dyno pull. I was shocked to find I gained 2.4 horse just from the oil. Take it for what its worth but I have used it since.

I'm not really sure why i run racing 51 other than the fact that it keeps my oil pressure up higher than the thinner oil. and it tastes better. j/k

we have seen royal purple run in an offshore boat for 2 full laps w/o oil and the motor survived that one of the reasons why i switched from mobil yrs ago. thats not as seen on tv bullshit thats real life. no oil for 2 laps and motor survives at over 1000hp.
