What is the best LSD for ITR?
Trust me you won't want the 2 way on the streets.... kind of aggressive but I enjoy the Cusco MZ/RS series 1way LSD that I have now ( 8kg torque setting )

they really don't like it when you lift a tire and drop it under acceleration... it's much easier to do than it sounds, and it could happen faster than you realize... 99.9% of people will never drive their car hard enough with enough power added to matter... unless your that .01%
The best. ATS carbon probably. I'd like to try it but it's expensive. Kaaz, Cusco and ATS regular are all excellent pieces. I use the Kaaz usually because it is a great value and 1.5 way (which I prefer).
What about Quiafe?? I heard some good reviews on it and best of all it doesn't require much maintenance as the Kaaz? What is your input EP with the Mugen; if you have the LSD??

the oil required for the ATS lsd doesn't affect shifting, that i know for sure. if it did, i wouldn't have swapped lsd's.
I think, remembering back to GranTurismo, that 2way is limited slip in both acceleration and braking, 1way is just acceleration, and 1.5 is acceleration and a little in breaking.
2way makes the car not handle well, 1.5 is a little better handling, and 1way is the best handling. Hope I didn't screw this up too much.

I thought 1-way LSD was primarily for straight line acceleration (dragging)
and 1.5 LSD was an LSD for cornering turns?
Doesn't the ITR's LSD really only engages on turns and is not meant for straight line racing/burnout?

Hey,
I have a KAAZ 1.5 way in my GSR and it rocks... I've driven a couple of ITR LSD equipped cars and there is a noticeable difference. Course, I never pushed the ITR LSD cars that hard.
The KAAZ really makes itself known and help in both straight line and cornering.
Could someone review the differences between 1 way, 1.5 way, and 2 way again. I think it has to do with whether the unit works during accel or braking, and 1 way is the most mile with 2 way prob too aggressive for the street.
Oh, the KAAZ is clutch-type and makes noise (clicking/chattering) and also requires rebuilds. Also, the special fluid for it is pretty spendy. We'll see how long it lasts before I need a rebuild.
Take care,
FB

Franz you can quiet it down with different combinations of fluid and some friction modifier. Next time it's due for fluid change let me know and I'll show you. \
1 way is only on acceleration
2 way is on all the time braking and acceleration.
1.5 way in between. Full lock on acceleration but only half way on deceleration.
2 way is for race use. It helps braking performance but can lead to understeer if you don't know what you're doing. Very tricky to get used to and not for the novice at all. 1 way is good but 1.5 way is better (more user friendly on the track). Any of them are suitable for drag and it is true, the ITR dif does not do anything for you in a drag race. It only works on the track and even then, not very well.

Good stuff, thanks Dan.
I know about the friction stuff, but I haven't tried it yet. Sounds like it would wear the clutches down faster though maybe?
It's getting much better with more miles on it though, not bad at all. Course, I don't have PS, AC, cruise or anything like that so I guess my tolerance is higher, lol.
Thanks,
