Default Cruise control connected to ignition coil????

Hey guys, I'm attempting to swap out the cruise from a junker 89 Ex-i into a 89 civic. But obviously the engine designs differ.

I think I can hook everything up except for the ignition coil. Its wired to the cruise control computer and I dont know why. I assume it sends out a pulse to determine RPM....problem is the accord engine doesnt turn anymore, so there is no way of telling what that pulses amplitude and frequency is.

Does anyone know what it does? Cause I need to figgure out where to splice into the divic distributor to get the same pulse.

Here is the accord cruise control diagram.

Thanks

Pierre

well, from the picture you posted, it is a blue wire. usually the blue wire is tach signal. I have never done this before, but I'd bet you hook it the coil negative lead.

FOUND it

I think

I looked at the wire comming from the accord's coil....navy blue with grey dots, plugged into the coil with a higher guage black stripped with yellow wire.

Looked for the same pair on the civic distro...EUREKA Same pair is found on the civic distro, allthough the black stirpped with yellow is smaller. I spliced the blue wire off the civic distro...i hope its gonne work...dont wanna fry my cruise computer :D

here sum info.....for you

in order for cruise to work..the unit need input from rpm and mph how fast you're going.......

cruise only ativate above 25 miles (on honda)

yes, just hook that blue wire to your ignition .....
