Default OBD1 Boost Editor released on the PGM-FI Forum ?

This thread was posted today on that forum: http://www.pgmfi.org/phorum/re...=3104

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Heres a copy of the OBD1 Boost editor I have been working on. Doc helped alot in isolating sensor locations and bringing mme up to speed pretty quickly on the OBD1 rom's when i was a n00b And of coarse his l33t dasm.

Joseph made the P28 and P06 tunes, so if ur motor blows up, send him the hate mail

for the n00bz:

p06 = 92-95 Civic DX
p28 = 92-95 Civic EX
p75 = 92-95 Integra LS/GS/RS
P72 = 94-95 Integra GSR

note: you can use the p72 for p61 (92-93 GSR) if you re-tune the fuel maps. Same goes for P30 (Del Slow VTEC b16 ecu)</TD></TR></TABLE>

Pretty interesting. I dont know if it works but there are alot of people playing around with stuff like this nowadays. Just FYI.

What is the m bar. I have been trying to read up on tuning and how to tune maps. Does any one have a map for d16z6 with 550's 9:0.1 pistons running stock fuel pressure ?

pm me with tuning tips so I can get on my way to mastering the a:f ratio

from what i understand :
mbar = millibars of pressure

so :
0 = vaccum
1000 = atmospheric pressure
&gt;1000 = boost (but for uberdata, it looks like boost is shown in psi, not mbar)

my question, the old software (erm) had preset scaling for injectors. uberdata does not appear to. so how do we go about scaling for larger injectors like 450s or 550s? i assume we iterpolate the the entire area of fueling, but how much and for what areas? since fueling is not linear i know it should be different for different areas, i just dont know how much. if anyone can help out, i'd appreciate it. thanks.

i know that i cannot use one scale for the entire rpm range because of the increased time it takes to open larger injectors. so what scale would i use for 550cc injector in the lower rpm range? upper range? thanks.

you'll need more time in lower rpm and less in upper. probably around .50 as a median.

i like it! to blake. i am just trying to figure out how to use it. also, i cant wait to see the next revision with injector scaling, interpolation, 3-bar map sensor support, and whatever else blake has up his sleeve. btw, i was also wondering, what happened to the sensor controls like the closed loop feature, is it gone or is it automatically disabled at 1000mbar? also, i wonder if blake is going to add the 2d mapping. i know its not that great for tuning. but i think that it is useful to see your adjustments and make sure there arent any big spikes. anyways, i think it is a great product already!!!

thanks for the free software. But I'm kinda confused. What's the diff between this free version of Uberdata and the one for sale at the drop shop? Why are they still selling it if it can be had for free?

this is verry cool stuff.. I do have a couple noob questions..

I assume the differance between low and hi maps is low and hi throttle?
what would the cutoff point be, when it switches from low throttle to hi throttle maps?

im sure the free software doesnt allow u to burn roms. i was reading on the dropshop forum that u need a serial number. and u can only burn roms WHILE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. it sends the serial number to blake for verification and if illegal copies are out there, he can disable it.

that was the old software. this new program seems to run on my machine which is firewall protected and even worked offline.

his old software worked exactly how you described though cause it did have some kinda online verification of who was using it. this new software appears to be wide open. kind of the original intent of the guys at PGM-FI i think.

I've been reading that forum too, and from what I understand the ERM connects to the internet before it even loads a file. But this free version can open files without connecting to the internet. I would think you can edit/burn ROMs with this software or else it would be completely useless. But it just seems to good to be true when the Drop Shop is selling their editor for $175.

There were more posts. I'm guessing l33t_h@x0r aka Blake aka Uberteg was banned again and his posts deleted.

ERM's original recurve was pretty fucked up, and worked not at all. Since this is a tuner app meant for you to TUNE with, you need to bring some knowledge to the situation. I'll be writing a FAQ for the new Uberdata to assist with this, but to answer your very pertinent question now:

(old injector)/(new injector) = X

X% * (fuel value) will be an approximate recurve.

Like so:

240cc/450cc = 0.53

Highlight the whole fuel map in Uberdata, right click, and multiply by 53 (percent). Done deal. The version B has posted is likely different from the beta I have, you may be able to recurve all the maps without hassle if you have the recurve coefficient aka the 0.53 thingy up above.

The idle will be pretty rich when going up in injector size, and the fuel for the rest of the driving event is not perfectly recurved, but it will get it 90%. As a tip, I reset my idle fuel values for 450/550cc to what they were stock with 240cc and tune from there.

The software works very well, used an early version of it on a 97 LS with B20Z conversion last night. Feel free to buy Dropshop's version if you want to.
