Default Peru Pro Predictions??

so i just looked at the reg list for the peru pro. so far sts has 19 entrants, with names like Tad Kaminsky, Heyward Wagner, Richard West, Chris Shenefield, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Brian Flanagan amongst those entered. for either me or heyward to have any chance at 1st in the Pro Finale we have to assure Fitzpatrick doesn't finish higher then 3rd. however, both me and heyward need a first, though i might be able to squeak by with a second provided Fitzpatrick doesn't finish in 2nd at the Finale. heyward on the other hand _has_ to have a 1st place finish. so sts should garner a pretty good battle. i'll have to take heyward and brian out for many and friday night. and then do it again in Topeka.

of course, that does neglect the fact that there are a minimum of 3 other sts drivers that could take any of those spots too. i better stop thinkin of that chit, i'll give myself an ulcer.

Lombardo is going to be there in EP, and i see the resident DSP crowd should all be there as well. what other battles/cars/drivers should we look out for??

todd, ya gonna beat all the scooby's this time?

nate

ps. i think karen would like to see the finishing places in FS reflect the current entrant list order

Well... IF I go, I predict I'll win

Seriously tho... I'm running into problems with justifing tires and what not. If I don't go I can slip by with just buying one more set (4) of tires for the season (for topeka). If I go to Peru I have to buy at least 6 (maybe 8) more tires this season. Basicly, I'm just trying to keep my finances in check.

I am pretty sure brian flanigan has already sold his car. Shenefield and Kaminsky were very fast at the peru tour if that means anything. They were a good bit ahead of me/flanigan both days.

not unless you can make an m3 legal somehow for STS. I haven't talked to him in a week or two so he might have changed his mind though.

Of course, since the Wendover results haven't been posted yet, you probably don't know the final results.... But, rest assured, I can lay down some smack if I'm hung over enough!!

Whoa! I didn't know about that Karen, Congrats on your win. Send in the contingency form for the tires. There is a chance you might get them even though there is a two driver car.

take care,

Aahj, who doesn't know what the hell will happen in Peru.

Oh, unfortunately, I didn't pull out the win, though the owner of the car I was driving did. I self-destructed on Sunday morning... I was shaking even before my runs, as I'd never been in that position before. Oh well.... next time.

Doh! I've never been in that position before either. Hopefully that'll change.

For the Peru Pro, I predict I will:

1. be tired and cranky Saturday morning
2. drink beer and eat hot wings at BW3 Saturday night

I can't however predict if The Secret Weapon will be ready in time.

Nate, you know so little about Team Underdog...

If you give Heyward alcohol, he WILL get faster...

Give him like a bottle of V8 or something

That bastard did that to me a few years ago before an autocross when we were battling for the state E-stock title. It worked too. Got me by 2/10ths. Free Franziskhaner on tap at Dads bar in Clemson is baaaad for Matt. I had the last laugh though, as I won the state title that year.

If you see him, kick him in the *** and tell him Matt said "hi"....

God that was funny. I was there (somewhat) for the whole fiasco. Morning of the autocross, Matt is standing in the middle of a doorway and just kind of buckles under his own weight, into the door jam, upon hearing it's time to go..

Good luck to everyone. Especially those taking Heyward and the guys out for drinks.

Nah, they're not that tough! I drank both Heyward and Mitchell under the table at the Topeka talent show in 2000...they had to be dragged to the site the next morning! (good thing for them they had already run)

Funny, I just realized that I got utterly plowed BOTH times I when to Nationals. In '98, we were doing 5 beer "drag races" during the awards banquet! Damn, maybe I should go back, I could use a big drunk.

Ah yes, Kansas, "The Free Beer State". Got to love Nationals for that, eh Pat?

As for 2 am calls to Heyward, I don't think that would work. I doubt he is back in his room by then and if it is, it just means someone drank him under the table and he is passed out and will not hear the phone anyway.

When any of you guys see Heyward, tell him that Bowie says he is a *****, and that the HR lady here is still hot!

As I said, get him a salad and some bottled water....he won't know what to do. It'll just confuse him. AND, to really psych him out, wash his car

Ok... I've got my tires. I've arranged work and stuff... Just hoping I get my "Pro License" thing in time.

If all goes well, I should be there making life difficult for Mike & AJ. Not to mention Alex in the really fast bimmer that whooped on us during day one of the tour.
