What do I need to drop in a h22a in my 89 rex.
Like I said before what do I need to drop in a h22a in my 89 rex. Some people say it would be easier to drop in a b-series engine. But if I have to use a little more money and I get way more power then why not but I want to get everything-staight before i buy anything .every bit of information would be greatly appriciated thank.
Your search for h22 returned the following 28 results.
the search is your friend. archived topics crx/ef.
Good-luck also you might try searching in the hybrid forum.
IMO it's not worth it. You'll be a lot ahead by going with a B

I guess its a good idea if youre only gonna drive in a straight line. Im pretty sure you have to mount the engine in a position that will make your axles funny (can't use stock axles btw). so you will probably break your axles really fast if you rip turns alot.
why go with a h22a, when a b18c1 or c5 will out do a h22, its very hard to get them to fit, need custom axles, mounts, and then a whole lota suspension work, i had it done to my 89 crx, by a custom fabrication auto company, was great for straight line, but i rapped it around a pole as soon as i took it out on the street and went around a corner doing 45 mph, even with LSD ur tires spin due to weight transfer of the car

A Prelude!!!

step #1
park car at ground level
step # 2
push engine hoist with engine up to 3rd floor of parking garage and hang over side
step # 3
release
Now either you'll end up with an h22 or a super rare 3.8L V8
seems easy and win win to me
either that or build your stock motor to prelude crushing power levels and laugh at yourself chimp boy

I plan to do the same thing and have not found any one that even makes mount for that. But I think who cares it will be worth it when i'm done at least i'll prove everyone wrong.
your not going to prove **** except this kind of attitude is ignorant when boku duckets are involved
For the price of the swap and custom fabrication alone you could build a turbo b16

Dude..you must not be looking very hard...there is about 3-4 of us in here...somewhere. I have a 93 H22a in a 91 Crx Dx. I have just finalized alot of the little issues I was having..namely cooling...and the Raging Demon runs awesome now. As for corners....I turn pretty good, not as good as stock but pretty good. There is only 2 things to cut. 1 about 7-8" off the passenger side frame rail..and the hole for the shifter cables and shift linkage.
Place Racing makes a weld in mount housing kit and mounts to fit it....it works awesome..I can even close my stock hood! All those in here bad mouthing this swap need to see me in action...this car hauls some major ***....I beat the everloving **** out of a 1997 GSR Teggy...in 3rd gear!!!!!! (on digital camera!!!!!!!)
So read up and dont go on hearsay and the word of others...find out for yourself.....
see the process... http://www.collectiveracing.net crx/h22 woo wooo!!

There is a lot of ignorance being stated in this thread. The swap is a bit more complicated... but can and has been done with great success. To all of you "bench racers" claiming that it yeilds poor results, STFU! You haven't any clue. Until you do it yourself, don't talk.
The tranny is a M2A4 (prelude) the manual to hydro conversion is handled by a Place Racing adapter. It works really well.
