Default AEM CAI install

I just got my intake, and I was wondering how hard it is to install. Do you have to take the bumper off? I searched and I couldn't find anything. Please help me soon.

No, you don't have to take the bumper off. It's really easy. You should take the right front wheel off, but I've heard of people installing them with the wheel turned all the way. The hardest part is getting all the old stuff off. You have to wrestle with that resonator a little.

Do you still have your stock resignator and intake on? If so, I'd HIGHLY recommend taking the bumper off.

What is the resinator? I have all the stock stuff still in. I can't take the wheel off. I don't have those kind of tools. How hard is it to take the bumper off, and put it back on?

yeah dude, take the bumper off. thats what i did. the resonator is that big white plastic box with the black tubes coming out of it. that won't be hard to remove if you take out your bumpter. as far as your wheel goes, you DO have the tools to remove it. the tools that come with your spare are enough to remove it. remove the bumper instead, in my opinion.

Don't take the bumper off, just jack up the passanger side, take off the wheel, then take off the fender lining.

no need to pull of bumper. jack up pass side and turn the wheel all the way.

How do you take the clips off of the fender liner? Does anyone know how I could patch a hole in the intake?

So, how do you take the fender liner off?

And there is this tiny hole. I just want to seal it up. What will work?

I just took off the fender liner and unscrewed the splashguard below where the cai filter will sit... You can pull it off without removing your bumper

I'm having trouble getting everything to line up. And I'm missing the hose to connect to the little hole.

You know the hard line that you had to pull off of the stock intake tube? Connect that to the hole in the AEM. So basically it's installed the same as stock. I'm having a hard time describing it.

You should have gotten a tube for your coolant too, to replace the current one.

I didn't get any hoses. And I can't get the clamp over the end of the intake. the side closest to the manifold.

Sounds like you bought it used...so did I. Just go pick up a vacuum hose from Lowe's or something. That's what I did and it works fine. 2' is more than enough. As for that tiny hole, I guess you could duct tape it. As for everything lining up, loosen the clamps and flex it so that it does, then tighten the clamps down.

****, gotta learn to work on your car somewhere. Ahhhhh I remember my first CAI install. What a pain. Took me forever and I drilled an unessacary hole in the frame, but you didnt' hear that from me.

IMO.... every Integra owner needs to learn to take that ******* bumper off some time in their ownership. I recommend it to anyone who wants to buy an Integra, or who has bought one and wants to mod it.

It makes working on the car SOOO much easier.

Just a comparison. I could take my 97 Civic Bumper off in 2 minutes. I timed Myself one day. I took me ******* 2-3 hours to take my GSR's bumper off when I did it fo the first time. Those clips on the side fender are a BITCH!!!!!!!!!!! So **** reinstalling them.

Now it's just bolts on the top and 1 srew on each inner fender and that's it.

I got a vacuum hose that reads 3/8", I'm pretty sure that's diameter, not circumfrence.

Congrats on getting it done. I remember installing mine, it was a pain in the ***. Looking back at it, it would've been so damn easy with instructions but I saved some cash, so, whatever. BTW, how much did you pay? I got mine for $100 from a local guy.

I paid 80 shipped for mine. And did you clamp the hose, or just slide it on?
