S-03 Review
After about 600 miles on the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position, here are a few thoughts:
Ultimate grip is high, but finite as I found out trail-braking into a right-hander. Not much more than the SP Sport 5000's I replaced. Where this tire really stands out is in two areas: steering response and wet grip. In the wet, they turn about as well as the SP Sport 5000's did in the dry. It is phenomenal.
As for steering response, without changing anything else, I immediately noticed sharper, more responsive behavior. I would guess that the slip angles are far lower than with the softer-sidewalled Dunlops.
I would recommend these tires to anybody who want ultimate performance, and don't mind spending a little extra for the confidence that they give.

retail quote i got at les schwab was $174 a piece for 205/50/15's in s-03's. I ended up getting discount tire to hook em up for $120 a piece for one pair, and $117 a piece for another pair a week later (had to buy seperate pairs due to waiting for payday because my previous tires were coming down to the wires). Later I talked to a friend of mine who works at a Bridgestone/Firestone dealer and he said I got my s-03's for like $7 above cost. ooh i got lucky.

Well, yeah, they're expensive. How much did you pay for your springs? Your shocks? Your big brakes? Your supercharger?
They are all worthless unless you have tires that are up to the task. The contact patch is where it all happens, folks. It is bar none the single most important connection on any car.
Saving $50 on cheapo tires that flex like mad and can't hold wet pavement hardly seems the risk.

No doubt. I might get another set for the winter (even though they're not actually winter tires).
