Default my crank journals, just measured it need help!!!

i toke out my engine this weekend for rebuild. after lots of cursing, blood shed, and sweet finally got the crank out. i mic'd it and the main journals are 2.12 the specs in my service manual says it should be between 2.1644-2.1654. my rod journal came out to be 1.2 book says 1.7. so question is can i use standard bearings or do i have to use over size'd bearings on the crank? what can happen if i would put the stanard size bearings in? oh and this is a b18a

You're probably measuring incorrectly. There's no way the main journal diameter is 4 hundredth's of an inch too small unless the main journals were turned down .025". And, the rod journals simply shouldn't be that far out of spec.

Did you have or were the journals turned down?

The level of instrument precision that you're using is not anywhere near precise enough to be "mic'ing" clearances. Bearing clearances are in the ten-thousandths of an inch. You need instruments that will read out to the ten-thousandths of an inch.

do it the easy way ...plastigage the mains exactly how you took them out ... that'll prove to you that your instrument is not calibrated or is really really off.

also plastigage the rods as well if you're not satisfied that your micrometer is off ...

if were specs were right you would have spun bearings a long time ago.
