extending senors..which ones and how many for header and cat
if i put and 96-98 ex stock header and cat onto 96-98 dx.. i will need to extend the o2 sensor for header and the cat.. is this right? or is there more wires i would need to extend or is it a different configuration?
If you put a stock exhaust manifold in your dx from a 96-98 ex, all you will have to extend is your secondary o2 sensor. If you put a stock exhaust manifold from a 99-00, you have to extend them both. if you extend your secondary o2 sensor, make sure you get some good silver braided wire, its not copper braid like the primary o2.
so let me get it straight.. if i put in a 96-98 ex exhuast manifold then i just have to extend just that one sensor?
what about the cat? cause the cat from the ex is going to be in a different position then my dx.. thats also something i need to extend also correct?

Thats correct about the 02 sensor. The location of the o2 sensor hole on the 96-98 ex exhaust manifolds is in a smiliar position as the dx/lx. Your going to need a whole new cat, and mid-pipe though. Your mid-pipe on your car from your existing exhaust will bolt to the end of the exhaust manifoldfrom the ex, but will give you no room for the cat. If I can find my pics when I changed mine over I will upload them for you. Its a good change over though, i recommend doing it highly. Youll get a lot more options for exhaust systems too by changing over to the Ex exhaust manifold, and the cat is less expensive to replace if you need to.
Ok on my CX I have a 99EX exaust many that my friend gave me for free. The primary sensor has enoth wire to be re-routed and it will make it. you have to get creative and undo some of the harness so you can do this. The second one where I to use a cat I would need to extend it, but I used an 02 simulator that I got cheap off ebay and I did away with the second 02 sensor. I am cat less for now. but I am going to pick one up sometime in the future.
