check the lower radiator hose when the car gets to optimum temp. (half way) if its not warm/hot then its ur thermostat

does the fan kick on?
when the car is warm loosen the radiator cap, it lets out air pockets that maybe in the radiator.

i would guess you just need to bleed your cooling system! as mentioned above, after car is warmed up, check both hoses. If one is cold then you have air in the system that needs to be bled out.

i did too... and it was that which led me to believe he's not familiar with having to bleed the cooling system after doing a swap!

to keep the fan running, trace the two wires running to the radiator fan, shave a spot on both and twist em together. In case you didnt know, the thermostat is where the lower radiator hose connects to the block. Remove the two bolts and pop it out. Also, what do you mean you dont have an intake? Are you saying that you are running with nothing on your TB? if so, please connect a filter of some kind to that thing

just curious what radiator are you using? one that came stock (d16z6) or b20, are you running a b20vtec or stock b20. if you can't seem to solve your problem, I'd think about looking into a better radiator especially if you have a b20vtec (fluidyne, ITR, GSR)

i highly recommend wiring a toggle switch with a fuse for the fan, rather than a constant power jump!

alrite everyone i replaced the thermostat and bled the coolant/radiator and after like 5 minutes of driving that **** over heated again.DAMMIT!.everything is fine when the car is idling.only when im drviving it over heats.i noticed the fan didnt turn on at all.does that mean i have a bad radiator/fan?what should i do now?BTW its a straight b20 non vtec for the person who asked above.thanks everyone.

if the motor before didn't over heat it shouldn't be ur radiator or fan relay so...

meter the resistance on the temp switch i believe its suposed to be between 200-400 whatever the measurement is ohms etc i dont remeber check ur helms

My dad's pontiac transport van has been overheating too lately and we found out that the fan didn't turn, but we susoect it could be the thermostat, or it could be electric connections.

As far as wire 12v constant to the fan, not a good idea, motor has to reach a certain operating temp, but will struggle with fan constantly on.. just my .02 cents

alrite but could that be the reason why my fan wont even come on?i dont think coolant is being pumped to the engine,i mean its @ the same level.hasnt even dropped an inch.
