what Tein's do you prefer ???
i have the FLEX... havnt done hard driving yet, but they are 16way adjustables. i have them set at stock setting (the setting that the tein sheet tells you to put them at) and it looks good.. not tooo low, but i can go to the floor.
not really i currently have the Tein SS
which i will sell and are looking for a new set up since i will be going more often to the track .
I dont think upgrading from Tein SS to Flex is much .....

SS to flex isnt worth it IMO.. i really wanted the HA's (those are the dicontinued ones right??? or was it the RA.. too many damn letters to remember).. but i figured, i would have to drive this car around town also, so lets make if comfy and at the same time a decent setup for the track/strip or anywhere else i go..
the good thing about the FLEX is that you can hook up the EDFC to it, but that is for lazy bums.

Agreed. My friend got a set of Tein flex for his WRX. when He took me for a ride. I was not impressed. IMO, the **** is overated.

Just checked the line up again and REs do sound nice.
But a street setup is too soft for track use and a track setup is too hard for street use. Going half way is not the best choice, IMHO. Pick one or the other.
You could always get the REs and put in softer springs and decide later if you want to put in the stock springs.

on a car with independent suspension, shock angle doesn't effect camber.

but too bad that two of my friends have Advance Design coil overs.. and although they are great for track and autox use.. both have blown their sets within 1-2 months each time.
however, Advance Design has replaced them free of charge.. not once, but twice (has blown that many times).
my other friend wanted a set for his m3... they asked him if his car had a license plate.. he said "yes", and they said they wouldn't sell it to him. i guess they are getting lots of calls of blown shocks/struts, so they are only selling them to track cars or somethin.

tein RE, simply because it can be adjusting the height without upseting the preload. plus, aluminum body and monotube. i dont know about other, but i think its a good setup for street and track.
HA is good for mostly street use. heat up quick on track(road course), i dont like the feeling of HA on track.
what pillow mount does is to give the driver more steering information. if you are good enough you can tell how much area of the tire is touching the ground.

I'll never buy them again. But they are very good for the street and occasional track driving.

no, RS is not something between RE/RA. RE/RA basically are same shock, the only difference is RE can ajust the height without affecting the proload(maybe the valving too, but i think they should be the same). RS is like RA but with a remote tank and bound and rebound can be individually adjusted. I think the custom Koni vs. JDM coilover debate has been beaten to death over in the Road Racing forum, but it is pretty narrow-minded to call my coilovers bling when they are far, far from it.

Flex gives you good streetability while still allowing height adjustment independent of stroke and preload. The Flex is the cheapest coilover to do so.
This is just as important for street use as you won't be bounding off of the bumpstops like you might if you slam your car on ground controls and Konis that have not been shortened.
While the Flex is not a good pure racing suspension, it offers far superior handling vs stock and on the new chassis (EP3/DC5) the flex comes with camber plates on the front.
