oil control jet from what 92-95 block into Z6 with A6 head
i have to put a non vtec D16A6 '88-'91 cylinder head onto my formerly vtec'd 92 Z6 sohc block...broke and i got smog ref on my back. From which 92-95 non vtec block can i use the oil control jet? (was msd module actived but sold head & wiring). any serious help please !
The only "oil control Jet" I know of would be from a 92-95 D15B7, and it would go in the center oiling hole on the top, back, center of the block. What does this have to do with Smog???
i had a jdm sohc ZC vtec motor in my hatch.. using stock EF puter... vtec wired to msd box and a relay. Smog ref said either put on a nonvtec head, or use the vtec ecu from a Z6.... not nuff cash to have all that & 2 sensors added. so im trying to put a nonvtech A6 head.. stock for the D16A6... but it will need an oil control jet in the longblock, which the zc/us version Z6 block does not have(its already in the sohc vtech head). Thanks for the reply... now after i valve job it, just timing to set.
sorry to answer smog, i didnt have ecu for corresponding sohc vtec motor... ghetto rigged the vtec activation... have to pass thru smog ref here in CA
Put the non-vtec head on, using the A6 control jet and turbo the F out of it like me... Z6 block and A6 head = 8.4/1 compression perfect for boosted daily driver. If you do use the A6 head, you will have to use the A6 timing belt..
Vtec head = vtec control jet
Non-vtec head = non-vtec control jet.
Timing belt of what ever head you are using is the correct head.

tried to IM you... have a '91 a6 Si timing belt on that set up... but my timing must be all jacked up for crankshaft - cam- or dizzy... getting a code 20 as well, but now its in a shop... bastids giving me hell cuz of the crane i think. mechanic asked for right timing belt, i told him that is the belt for that head- i dont have the z6 head anymore(its too small for a6 head)
. ! looks like i may have to have car towed back from this bs shop...im trying to keep it stock cept for ignition and headers..

I don't know man. It almost seems like you would be better off doing the P28. If you pull that head off you have to get a new head gasket and might have to get a new timing belt to match the other head you put on. That's $80+ right there. If you sell your stock ECU, that A6 head, and your A6 dizzy you should come up with $150+. With that $ you can buy the conversion harness and have some left over. With the left over cash added to the $80+ that you'll save by not replacing the head you could own a P28. All you need after that is the Z6 distributor and a 4 wire O2. If you come up a little better selling your A6 stuff of you should be able to put some $ towards that stuff.
