Default Turbo Manifolds

Last night I purchased a Turbonetics T3/T4 and a Spearco FMIC for my H22Accord. Now I am in need of a good manifold and wastegate. I am checking places like RevHard, Drag, and F-Max today, but would like some more ideas and opinions on what you all like.

TIA,
James

I really like the Fmax and Rev-hard manifold for the prelude. Drag has yet to come out with a new manifold. I personaly like the Fmax from both of them.

Fmax eh? Thanks for the reply. I plan on checking in to them, and have heard good things about them.

BTW, if anyone wants to see pics of the turbo I bought, Click here. It will take you to another forum that they are posted in. My photo hosting page is down.

The thing I like about the FMax is that the manifold has these slits where the bolts go to avoid cracking. The design of the rev-hard and fmax is almost the same, but I like fmax because of the slits. They do this because when the manifold heats up it expands horizontal and these slits expand with it to aviod cracking. Very nice piece. I'll see if I can get a pic for you.

I would appreciate it! Thanks. I guess judging byt he fact that all things being designed the same, basically, and the fact that the FMAX has the extra safety measure in it, that sounds like the best bet.

Have you seen the discontinued DC turbo mani for the H22? It is quite nice, maybe if enough of us ask they will make some......

Well not sure if this place has a manifold for your engine but its worth a shot, http://WWW.SFP.NET . They have clean looking manifolds and guarantee them against cracking. Shop is South Florida Performance. Peace

Off the topic...kinda...

Anyone know where I can get a manifold for a 60-1 Turbonetics snail?

Thanks-Jason

The 60-1 has a T4 turbine section that is slightly different from a T3. Any Rev-hard or Drag manifold can be modified to fit.

Anyone taken it upon themselves to make their own manifold? I'm considering giving it a shot. Got the equipment, all I need is some raw material, a good solid piece of metal to bolt it up to prevent warping, and a lot of luck and patience.
The "similar-to-dragII-but-not-quite" manifold I've got now is cracking like crazy and I fear it's going to be dead very shortly.

If you look at this manifold you can see the both the T3 and T4 flange. The T3 is the inner ones and T4 is in the outter. The 60-1 has the same flange as the T4.

well, just to chip into the conversation, i have a picture of the kiwi manifold...

the manifold was way too hot ( ~1000C by accident!), and the coating decolorised...

Oh crap I just wet my pants!!
Stainless steal is always going to discolor even at 300 degress, but at least it wont rust like Iron or mild steel.

Hi-Tech Exhaust. $1500.00 Two piece design(less likely to crack 321 Stainless steel)

accordking: that is a nice manifold... but how did you manage to get everything to fit in there? do you have to sacrifice AC or anything?

my manifold cost like 850, but the maker ( lawerence) ain't the most pleasant to work with. as far as i know, my car was in his possession for 2-3 weeks, and he didn't even bother making the manifold as promised ( he said 1 week ). it was like another 1-2 months later that I finally got the manifold, and not before someone else got it first, even though i ordered it and they were using my car as prototype. in the end, i only got the manifold and no dp. BUT, the manifold did look good, and seems to work great too.

Whoa, that thing is bueatuful (sp?)

As a side note to this conversation, you can always just cut your own stress reliefs in the manifold on the head/manifold flange. I did on my header, and it is a pretty widely accepted method of keeping manifolds from cracking. (as shown by most companies making the manifolds like that stock)

All it takes is a GOOD saw, and patience. I made cuts between runners 1-2, 2-3, 3-4.

With this manifold you can still maintain you A/C,Pwr Steering. But here's the catch-you can only use this manifold only with an air to water. John,Hi-tech exhaust, is the one who made this piece as well as Stephan Papadakis' manifold as well. He make a manifold like Steph's so you can use a air to air intercooler(if space will allow). Same price for either manifolds $1500.00 each.

the picture above of the revhard manifold is their older manifold. the newer manifold which looks almost the same is offset a bit because there were some fitment issues with some applications. i personally like the revhard better then the fmax.

the kiwi manifold may not fit the accord hybrid. reason is there is much more space in the prelude bay between the fans and the motor compared to the accord. even with my revhard manifold and turbo it's very tight.
