Hey everybody,

I just reinstalled neuspeed races on my stock shocks in the front and shortly after when I'm going slow I can hear a rhytmic knocking. When I give it gas, it seems to pop..I know on the strup cap, the rear bolts are stripped at the bottom so the rear nuts dont tighten down all the way, do you think thats the problem? Also, what else would make this knocking/popping so when I put the new struts in I know what to check.


TO SUM IT UP: Installed stock shocks w/neuspeed race in front, strut caps nuts wont tighten down on rear bolts (stripped, will replace), knocking/popping sound when slow or when giving gas

that is probally your problem right there, get a neww nut and see if it go's away, aslo chech your cv axle, if the boot is torn it could ruin your axle and cause a knocking noise.

 

I need a brand new strut cap, the nuts wont screw down onto it. Its not the nuts its the bolts they screw on, I might try and force them tommorow. I cant think of anything else it may be. Ill check my lug nuts but I know I tightened them just fine. I know my CV joint is probably fine too. The boot had no holes or leaks. Im just scared Im gonna hit a bump and it breaks on me.

 

you could probally find a new strut cap at your local junk yard you might have to buy the whole strut, any year from a 92-95 civic 0r teg will work.

 

My suspension popped when i went over bumps because the castle nut had come almost all the way off. This also saved my suspension when i smashed into the curb goin 55 mph..
