Buying a 2G teg.....what to watch out for?
take it straight to the car wash and get it really wet....
then get inside, and turn on your heater...
make sure there is no water getting in the cabin, on the passenger side footwell!!
big PITA!!
otherwise, look for the usual rust, and inspect the engine, you dont want an oily mess anywhere!!
i've also had to replace the radiator, and o2 sensor, and my MFR is on its way out...but this is on a 90...so i highly suggest finding a 93!!

the only problem you might have is leakage, DA owner here where i live has a swamp in there trunk but i drilled a hole so it will drain to fix that, otherwise you will be hooked i love my G2 2 door LS my next is a rhd 4 door
main fuel relay(hard starts when hot) and blower motor resistor. those were the only common problems so far on mine and several others I've seen...both are easy DIY fixes though! other than that I love my G2
great car!
great car!
maintanance records
water leak in the trunk and pass side
faulty ignition control module and coil.
typical rear cam seal leak.
squeaky shocks and hatch plastic cover.
gs climate control.
screching brakes no mater what you do
ripped drivers seats
leaky headlights
other than that its a real nice car to own..

I owned one and my probs were:
worn out drivers seat
cam seal leak
broken power antenna (easy fix)
beginnings of rust behind one of the rear fenderwells (early 90s Accords do this too)
My brakes always were cracking front rotors, but I suppose that was b/c I didn't know about good pads and how to take care of them - same are used on G3 'tegs.
Check out Consumer Reports or other used car buying guides, as they list documented trouble areas. Not many though.

You hit that right on the button, I had to replace both of them. Both fairly easy to fix too. Check for rust in front of quarter panels, behind weatherstripping around door, and under the hatch.

Radiator is another prob, since Honda went w/ a metal core and plastic tanks, which vibrates apart after a while. You can find a good all-metal radiator for $200 or so, though.
Just bought a radiator for my DA from radiatorbarn.com. It has metal endtanks
and it was only like 90-something bucks with a lifetime warranty

Also, I just started getting water in through the passenger side. The water is coming from behind the dash. It drips right at your feet. I thought it was the weather stripping on the front windshield. It's peeling back...How did u guys fix it?

wow didnt realize Tegs Leaked so much more than EFs! hehe
Im finding that most 4 Doors are Automatic and the ones that arent automatic are RED!
Yuck Phoey!
Looking at getting Black,Silver,White....would consider other colors too...just no RED, no RS's, and no automatics!
As far as the engine goes.....im looking at dropping in a b20 anyways so im not really concerned about the engine.....Ive worked on plenty of Honda engines so I know all their faults.....(i.e. Distributor)
Im lookin for more model specific information......
thanks
