Default Compatability DX and SI Front Brakes??

I have a 1990 CRX DX and when I took off my calipers the piston fell right out. I have some spare 1989 Civic Si calipers lying around. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this would work. I have brand new DX rotors and pads and I don't want to have to buy another set. I did search but I didn't find any straight answers.

They look exactly the same to me so I'm gonna have to say that they are...

yep. Only civics for EF that are different caliper wise are the EX's. DX, HF, SI, and STD all use the same caliper and rotors. The hubs and spindle are different though

the rotors off my 89 dx and my roomate's 89 si are different thicknesses, so i'm gonna say "no".

If you mean thickness as in where the pads contact the rotor then thats just wear on the rotor. The diameter of the 2 are the same as said before, only the EX is different because of the larger rotors. They will fit just fine.

Rotors and pads are the same; the calipers I'm not 100% sure about, I know they are different in the factory service manual. You could always try them out; if they don't work, re-manufactured calipers are only $40/caliper.

Rotors are not the same even though a lot of places will sell rotors that are for either the Si or DX they are different the service limits (max thickness) are different between the 2. I am almost positive though that the calipers are the same. Give me a day or so I have 2 sets of each I will compare them and let you know.

When I bought new Calipers for my DX I asked for Si calipers and the ones they gave me are exactly the same as my DX ones were.

the calipers are the same for 88-89 and 90-91 91 pads will not work on a 88 and vise versa (the little grooves are different) thou dx and si have the same calipers and any caliper 88-91 will bolt up to any rex, (i use to have 90 calipers then they **** the bed so back to new 88s)
