Default Poor man's braided brake lines: Zip Ties

Here's one that may be out of left field that I heard about a long time ago. Instead of steel braided brake lines; use zip ties one after the other until the entire rubber section of the brake lines are covered. This should accomplish the main reason why most people upgrade to braided lines: better brake feel due to less hose expansion.

Any input? Thanks!

I suppose one would have to consider the difference between the time spent doing the mod and the time spent making the money, then installing the SS lines.

Yes, it can be done. Yes, I did this ~4 years ago when I thought the same thing you just mentioned. I later went to braided lines and felt no change whatsoever.

In all, I'd say that they are worth the money invested (only a few bucks) because they do work, but they are not worth going through the trouble to do. Braided lines are too cheap to warrant the zip tie substitute, in my opinion.
