Crunchy brake(?) Help..
Auto integra. Recently when I drive at normal speed 30-40mph and come to a stop, I hear a crunchy or interrupted Rubbing sound when I applied the brake pad, NO squeeks, just the sound I mentioned. Last time I changed my brake pad was a few years ago, keep in mind that my teg is Auto.
Can someone help out?

well, It only happens when I drive at a normal speed. If I drive fast and apply brake, I really don't hear it. maybe it's that it's too noisy when I drive fast in traffic. Stopping isn't a problem, It will stop when I hit the brake, just the fact that it's making this wierd rubbing sound when I apply the brake slowly intermitenly in slow driving... rubbing against something.

Check your brake pads. That'll only take you a few minutes. Take off the wheels so you can check each inboard pad, too.

I don't have a good picture to post. Find a repair manual for your car (at the library?) & look up brakes. Maybe one of your friends works on his car & would show you...
The pads are the things that press against the rotor (disk). There's one inside & one outside at each wheel, and they are made of a steel plate with friction material. The friction material wears away, and when you have less than maybe 1 or 2mm thick you replace them.
