I installed a new gauge cluster in my 97 GSR and as soon as I started driving it the abs light went on and the the abs stopped working. Has anyone experienced this problem before or does anyone know why it happened?

 

check the abs fuse box, maybe something got shorted out and popped a fuse,
go with the simple stuff first

 

If you have access to a Helms, there are several pages dedicated to ABS troubleshooting and repair - that would be a good place to start.

Another simple thing to check is the fluid level...get too low and the light comes on.
