Default Brake Pad Wear

My brake pads are getting to the point that they will need to be replaced soon, and I was thinking about going with the Axxis Ultimates, but I was wondering if anyone knew how the wear on these pads compares to the OEM pads. I have been pleased with the wear on the OEM pads and I was wondering if I should expect a shorten life from the Axxis pads. Thanks.

Do you brake frequently or have cross-drilled rotors?

They aren't as good as OEM for wear, but they aren't bad. Going w/better rear pads can help improve the life of the fronts. The much better feel and increased capabilities were worth it to me in regard to Ultimates.

Ultimates don't squeak. However, using a good grease, shims and new rotors would be a good place to start for quiet brakes.

In fact, Ultimates have built-in shims, so you are double shimmed when using them.

Call Andie up at Cobalt Friction (www.cobaltfriction.com) tell him you are from Honda-Tech.com and he'll hook it up.

Mine are in dear need of replacement too. I went on a mt. run back in april and smoked the **** out them. There are hotspots on the rotors, but amazingly the StunnaZone rotors aren't warpped! The pads just fade like really fast now. lol

Dont buy OEM till you give Andie a call. I'll never buy OEM again he hooks it up so hardcore.

If you put some grease on the back of the pad, it wont squeek. Regardless of what the hell it is.

Just not very well.

Ultimates should be the same or cheaper than OEM.

To each his own.
Just curious as to the price, I just bought OEMs yesterday if the "ultimates" are much cheaper maybe you've convinced me.

I heard Axxis Ultimates are hard on rotors.
People with Ultimates- can you share your experience ?

Axxis Metal Masters are another story.

Should be able to get front and rear both for under $100.

Ultimates may be harder on rotors than OEM, but the rotor should last the life of the pad. I've had too many problems with using old rotors, so I buy new each time.

just get some StunnaZone rotors. Replace them every time you change your pads.

They are only like 20 bux a rotor. Hell some come with a warranty.
