Default AEM cai vs AEM cai V2

At first, I am thinking for the cai but then my friend said v2 is much better.....but.... with much expensive price, I dont really want to spend that much money on intake
So I am thinking " why not let the expert at honda tech decide"
What you guys think? Is it really worth it to go for V2 AEM cai ?
BTW I am not gonna put turbo, charger or NOS to my car ( it's 97 accord SE 4 cycl)

v2 for an accord is not CAI, it's a short ram. i'm sure it make more dyno hp since the hood is open with fan blowing on it, but when the temps are 90+ degrees out i think CAI is better.

here's a pic from someone who shelled out $$ for it if you wanna see it installed

honestly the cold air, hot air thing is ambiguous... the battery is blocking air from the engine, and your fenderwell, if left open would allow some "cold air" to be sucked up i figure.

I wouldnt remove the fenderwell all together.. just cut out an opening for hollow tubing.. to bring more cold air... You take off that well and you will have way too much water coming in.. and it sucks when it gets in your bumper lights.. h-lights.. etc..

P.S - the battery is actually blocking heat rather than air..

you can always buy piping equal to the diameter of the end of the V2 and aim it down into the fenderwell for true CAI.

V2 is way overrated. You can only gain so much from an intake. Just grab yourself the og aem cai or whatever and save your money for other mods. Intakes will have their battle of whos will produce the most power but once you add another mod such as exhaust, cam, header, etc.. youve change the power output of the intake because its working together with another mod to produce the power. A V2 would work wonders by itself but if paired up with an exhaust the power output of it might suck if compared to a short ram and the same exhuast. Get what Im saying?

A pipe is a pipe...yes CC will sheild from heat....but if you wanna save a few bucks, any pipe will work....if you wanna protect it from heat,...wrap it in pink insulation.

Paying 250$ us for a pipe and filter is insane.

actually cold air and hot air do make a difference
pipe size, bore, etc. does make a difference

it may not to a daily driver but when you get in a race car and the difference between first and second can be thousands of a second it pays to have the best built and researched product

they take the time to test different designs to get the best that they can, do not fault them for that
anyone who goes out and builds their own intakesing it on a design that somebody came up with before them because it works

if you had never seen an intake before and went to build your own from scratch with no help how would you do? How much would you spend getting it right?

No no....cold air works...no argument there...paying hundreds of $$$s for a pipe is ludicrous.

Thats all.
