Default Turbo/Ac ?

How many of you is it worth ditching the Ac for the extra power and ease of a better turbo set up. I know there are kits so that you can keep the Ac in, but it is so much easier to ditch it and more power gains possible?

So Ac, or more Power?

depending where you are, you're going to want to keep the AC. I heavily regretted taking mine out.

You dont have to lose a/c to make alot of power. The reason people lose a/c is for the usually for the following reasons
1) exhuast manifold
2) 3" dopwnpipe
3) weight savings
4) some people have daily drivers

The a/c system in texas to me is a must, but some people dont thihnk so. I ditched a/c in my last car because of choice i wasnt forced too. Some people want to run top of the line products which prevents a/c. Example Full race Manifold is by far the best manifold out right now, but because of design its not a/c compatible. There are plenty of descent manifold out there that are a/c compatible.

I'm going to run a downpipe that flares to 3" after a/c. Yes i may gain some power by going to a full 3" downpipe, but im not looking to go all out. Hope this helps.

thanks guys, It has been over 100 for the last 2 weeks here in Utah and it is killer with no A/C, but I know this winter when I build it up with all the snow I wont think twice about taking it out?
I won't think that I need it till I feel the heat again.

it is only killer heat here about 1 month out of the year. and I do want a low 11 high 10 daily driver.
We have a few rolling around but they all ditched the A/C.

Also what about power steering?

Ac is great to have, especially when you are making resonable money.

Power steering doesnt weight nearly as much as a/c but thats someting im willing to lose. It will net you a few hp and improve drivability. I've seen up to a 5hp increase by losing power steering.

i live in Houston, Texas and i havent had a/c in the only car i have for 2 years. its mostly personal preference. this is whats weird... when i drive my car i dont really think of being that hot because im use to it, but when i get in someone elses car who has a/c im like damn, turn that air on.

i dont have it because i junked it all while the motor was out and i hate all that crap under there. its just ugly and makes it a hassle to work on when doing certain things.

look at all that room. i could fit a few turbos in there!
