Default do I need different valve springs and retainers for ctr and itr cams?

I have a first gen b-16a in a 4th gen civic. when I accidently blew it up I ordered another longblock and got stuck with one that originally had an automatic tranny, which means less aggressive cams and a slow *** motor. I figured since I was going to have to replace the cams I thought about skunk 2 stage 1 cams or ctr and itr cams, or maybe just the cams from standard tranny b-16a. Because the cams are different in the a/t b-16a's does that mean the valve springs are also less aggressive. If i threw in some ctr and itr exhaust and intake cams would I have to get new valve springs?

Yes you need the ITR valvetrain for those cams

it's cheap insurance..
get itr springs for the intake side and move the existing intake springs to the exhaust side and get all new itr retainers (16 of them)

All b series retainers are the same.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if Auto B16's have differn't spring rates then the M/T ones, but normal B16 valvetrain is FINE up to 8K w/ CTR/ITR cams. If you want Portflow inners are only $80.
