New rollcage is IN!!
Install took about 6 hours since I had to remove the dash and cut the holes for the front loop. Padding took another hour because I glued my fingers to the pads several times
! Is it rigid? Hell yes!! Is it worth it? Hell yes!! This is a bolt-in Safety21 Works rollcage that is FIA certfied!
Driverside shot! That ITR radio/CD combo is up for grabs again!
Driver door and dashshot!
Lower door bar! I wish I would have had that in Feb
Driver's side pillar stay for the main loop.
Front top crossbar
Passenger side shot
This area finally being put to use!
Rear section behind the passenger
Undercoating will get peeled out after my super HEAVY duty heat gun arrives.
Main loop shot!

I'm in Japan and my beater is a daily driver. The new turbo setup will go in as soon as I get my new turbine wheel. There are lots of good seats for widebodies over here. Hell, I am 5'9" 215lbs so I am far from being small.
The seat and cage cost the insurance company a pretty penny

maybe if i had a play car like that, i'd do the same just because it looks pretty damn safe if you ever rolled. but..i would have trouble hackin up the dash! you did a pretty clean job tho
That's a nice rollcage. I'm looking for one right now and couldn't find one with the specs I'm looking at. This is the one I'm looking for!
You're in Japan. I'm not in the States nor Japan. Which equals difficulty of finding parts! So where did you get it? How much did it cost? Can I get it shipped to the Middle East? Any info will greatly be appreciated

u dunno now i have to question the safety of that cage. everything is bolted together, not just to the floor, too many moving pieces could be a prob in an accident god forbid anything should happen . just too much going on with it IMO .
I agree with itr206's concerns. As an engineer, I think the single joints are risky. HOwever, the oringinal poster says that it is FIA certified, which is usually pretty strict in their test methods. I still like the bolt in kits offered by Kirk, which is what I have.
One thing I don't see is a place to mount the seat belt behind the seat. (Someone in following posts will mention the cross brace by the shock towers, but that will be out of the acceptable mounting angle and distance for any seat.)
