Tryin to help sister
Hey my sis is having breaking problems on her 93 accord. She is saying she can get the pedal all the way to the floor and it still isnt grabbing hard. She had new brake pads put on about 2 years ago she said. I think it is her MC or maybe a prop. vavle...could maybe even be just some air in the fuel lines... What do you guys think??
Sounds like the brake master cylinder needs to be replaced.
at a complete stop, does the pedal sink to the floor when depressed for an amount of time? If so, then you gotta get a new MC

try stomping on the pedal a few times when its off, then apply steady and moderate to heavy pressure on the pedal. if it slowly sinks some more, the MC probably is leaking internally. Mine did and i just replaced it.
the part is $75 oem from hparts too, i have the part # if u want to order it. i paid $100 for it from hondaautomotiveparts, but bleh found out its cheaper at hparts.com

fairly easy, just time consuming to bleed the brakes after and all. it is kinda a pain to reach in there to get to the nuts, but its basically....
removing all the fluid in the resevoir so it doesnt spill everywhere, use a towel or something.
loosen the 2 bolts holding the hardlines in the MC
loosen the 2 nuts holding the MC to the booster
then remove the nuts/lines and sort of wiggle the thing out of there.
bench bleed the new one (bleh i didnt and have to take everything off to do it).
i think you can use your hand, i dont see why they use a screwdriver when you can press the piston w/ the palm of your hand. look online for directions.
install is reverse of removal, and u must bleed all 4 brakes after, be sure to get al lthe old fluid and AIR (air wil leak in for sure), when you bleed. probably would be a while, a dozen or more pumps per corner to get all the old fluid out.
