Replacing rear deck speakers on 99 Civic EX 6.5 or 6x9's?
I'm looking to replace the rear speakers on my Wife's 99 Civic EX and I was wondering which would be the better way to go? Should I get some good 6.5 inch two ways or go for some 6x9 two ways (3 ways would be overkill). Any suggestions, comments or exsperiences would be appreciated.
I've got the xplode 3 way 6x9's, not too bad, but in all honesty I think they suck compared to my old Panasonic 2way 6x9's.
The sound just isn't full enough, it's clear...but it almost sounds too clear, and they get all funky when i have it turned up too much.

I've heard from most people that most 3 ways generally suck. Thanks for the input. I forgot to mention that I will also be installing a Kenwood HU. Anyone else? 6.5's or 6x9's?
6x9 is the factory replacement size, i would recomend the infinity refrence series. they are a very efficient speaker that doesn't require alot of power to sound good. plus they are cheap.
I know that the factory replacement size is 6x9 but my question is would I get better sound quality out of a 6x9 two way or a 6.5 two way? I've heard from a couple of people that the 6.5's sound better but wanted to more input on it.
