A z6 is easy, because it drops right in. You only need to activate the vtec. You will also need a new d series tranny(if yours is bad). The B series is harder, but there is kits avalible that makes it easier. Do a search, and refer to my site (in sig) for reference on b series swap. Ryan

If the body is rusted out and the drivetrain is shot, $600 isn't a deal by any stretch of the imagination. Find a better shell before you do an engine swap.

If you're just going to swap engines, at least find a body that is in good condition. Otherwise, you're just stacking your problems one on top of another. Also, if you've never swapped an engine before, maybe you should just find a good, stock car to start out with and see how you like it.

I saw about 100 posts saying the D16z6 was an "easy swap" and physiclly it is, but I couldn't ever get mine to run... I ran OBD-0 with v-afc, then OBD-1 p-28, Z6 intake, then A6 intake, and every combo of parts you could think of, but the D16Z6 long block would never start. I swapped ECUs ( two different P-28s ), I swapped dizzys ( 4 total, 2 obd-0, 2 obd-1 )..

Anyway, slapped the D16A6 head from my old motor on it and it started up first try with the Z6 block, Z6 intake, and PM6 ecu...

God was just trying to save me from Vtec I guess... Or maybe I just suck.. But its all good b/c I was going to do the Z6/A6 hybrid "un-mini-me" anyway b/c I wanted to lower the compression to 8.4/1 for turbo.
