Do I have a real 4 dr JDM ITR ?
Some of you may remember me as I headed up the ITRCA-SE until I had to sell my 00 PY ITR.
But now I recently bought a 4 dr JDM ITR that can be seen here.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=5335
I am curious as to if some of you may be able to help me verify its authenticity by telling me some of the not so obvious things to look for. Also I don't know if I have HID'S or not ..... dunno what to look for on the ballast.
Edit : I think the 96's didnt have HID's ?
Thanks in advance,
Richard

Why do you say it looks gay ? Cause its a 4 dr ? All the shitty lookin stickers are gone now as is the purple tint. Keep in mind that I bought it this way .... I didnt do the wheels and ****.

I think I would say the plate is real as I have seen many after doing some browsing that look the same. For instance http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...88744
I didn't bid on it, just called Shannon and he wanted 9500 for it. So I said sounds good and flew down there and then drove back.

Have fun protecting your car from thieves. Gotta love the markup on JDM stuff since '96 spec ITR's can be bought for as low as $3.5k over here.

To the original poster... Nice collectors item!! I hope it stays with you as long as you want it!!
Here are two yahoo japan auctions that are the norm for '96 ITR's. '96 ITR's listed for more than $6500 do not sell if it isn't loaded with every part made since the wheel became round!

$4k huh? motorex out in Cali must be making a ton of money! LOL, just kidding, i know they certify the cars and handle all that red tape for you out there, so i guess that's the markup
as for the 4 door, it looks real to me, that would be a nice car to have

The Plates look fake, car looks real though.
Check the Blue plate and if it is fake then worry. All the sutff looks real and if someone went through all that trouble to convert a 4dr to 96 JDM R specs they spent a lot more that 9 grand to do so. I would gather that the car is indeed real as the attention to detail is pretty good. Make sure the JDM ID # is 7 digits 100XXXX
9 grand for an Integra with a Type R swap and JDM recaros and RHD conversion and all that is a good price real or not.

Also I don't know if I have HID'S or not ..... dunno what to look for on the ballast.
Edit : I think the 96's didnt have HID's ?
Thanks in advance,

95.5-97's DB8's (ITR 4 door) did not come with HID headlights, only the 98+ models did. Although, the way to tell if you have HID's or not is simple, just look right behind the headlight and look for a box like this:
if you have that box, then you have HID headlights, if you don't....no HID.

or even the smaller projector and the "circle" that goes around the projector on the lens of the lights
