The only time I've ever seen that "C" designation was when there was some shady dude in the Classified section with a few sets for too-good-a-price. Strangely each rim had 2 tiny small holes in the center section between the lug holes. He claimed to have gotten them direct from Racing Hart Japan, but he was located in Taiwan, and had pictures of them in the back of a panel van. Claimed it would take a month by boat to get to the States. No joke, search the archives you might be able to find that thread.

I'm not saying they're fake, but http://www.hartwheels.co.jp only recognizes three models CP-035, CP-035G and CP-035R. Granted they don't update their site that much, but you be the judge.

Also, the ones in question above, even if they were by some means legit... I'm guessing that maybe "C" stands for "cast" rather than forged. Which isn't what you want CP-035's for.

Yea, that guy in the classifieds is the same one selling them on Ebay. I tried to get him run off but noone here cared... A couple years ago when he first started trying to sell them, he was trying to pass them off as forged wheels, and had a picture of them on a scale showing a false weight.

At best, anything marked CP-035C is a cast Racing Hart wheel. It's possibly a knockoff.

The standard CP-035 is a forged wheel. If you're not shelling out the dough for the forged model, you might as well buy a set of Rota. They'll be cheaper and you'll at least know what you're getting.

I see 2 small holes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That guy selling them in the classifieds and on ebay was super shady.

Funny, I don't see how this would be the forum to ask this question in, and yet it is *shrug*

Yes, the infamous holes!

Well, if the seller admits these are cast I guess we have an answer. We're just trying warn you against paying the premium of the forged CP-035. If they're appropriately priced and what you want size and design-wise its your choice.

Specs. can't help you there, but they will be heavier than the CP-035 (cast vs. forged). How much it's hard to say, the CP-035 is an extremely light rim in 15x6.5 (~7.6lbs when I measured mine, it varies with offset and from wheel to wheel). I'd guess a cast version is going to be 12lbs +/- a pound.

Since no one can really confirm that RH even made these or they're knockoffs, the question of quality comes to mind. (Granted some knockoffs are good quality.) I guess the JAWA sticker may support that the wheel is road worthy (as does the JWL and VIA stamps you can see in the pic) if they're not copies themselves, heh .

This maybe a discontinued model from like 2-3 of years ago. I remember these advertised by RacingHart in SCC. If my memory is correct, they were called CP35C vs. the CP-035. I just remember that some of these models were lacking the "0" in the name... But then again, i could be wrong. It's been a while....

an old pic i have of this wheel from the DAZZ website was just labelled as "RACING HART CP-35" on the wheel, interestingly the filename is "CP-035.JPG", No "C". also, there was the other CP-F wheel that was discontinued, but these are noticeably different.

I would agree with Alan that "CP-035C" is a figment of that shady dude. alan's got the real ones.

actually isnt it pretty obvious by comparing the two pictures against rota slubzeros "which one is not like the others"...

Ah well, guess the C was a figment of my imagination too. Though, I did remember the CP35 without the 0 part correct, hehe...

I noticed that the Rota 5 lug has elongated holes between the lug seats where as the RH wheels have round holes between the lug seats.

Now, the RHs in question have the elongated holes like the Rotas but I have not been able to find a picture of a 4 lug RH. Perhaps XrcR6 could let us know what his look like between the lug seats.

Those "CP-35s" don't have elongated holes between the lug seats, but my CP-035 (yeah, I only have one...it's a spare ) looks just like the Rotas. It's a 4-lug wheel. I don't think this point is an issue.

If it's a real wheel and it's cast, you can probably tell if you read that text that's written on the lip just outside of the valve stem. Mine says "Full Program Forged Wheel." I guess maybe it would say something about it being cast if it's supposed to be. The location of the other sticker is about dead-on as well, so if it's a knockoff it's pretty well done.

He also believes that these were the original design and they were machined down from this to make the original model for the forged versions

i bought a set of the cp-035c's from a guy in hong kong. instead of the 8lbs, these are 10.5lbs. probably due to the cast. i sold these without use so i could get the 8lb ones.

im not sure what the c stands for but they are real RH. just not as light

Well the weight also has to do with the Size. I have a set of Forged CP-035's and they are 15 x 6.5 and they weigh in at 7.8lbs. I weighed them on a Digital scale from UPS.
