I have one...have some dyno sheets too, but haven't had time to get the car tuned, or been around someone that could scan them in for me lately...I can tell you one thing is that the car is nice and fun to drive now...We had to shorten the b-pipe by 8 1/2", and had to do some shaving to the inspection cover for the flywheel area...you're going to need to extend the primary O2 sensor by about 6-7 inches, and the secondary needs to be extended by 4-5 inches...I am very happy with the header, just unhappy about some of the other mods that I currently have

I had to wait since early February...at least I didn't have to wait as long as TypeR_126 had to, he's been waiting since November, but then again his engine has been MIA for the last 3 months. I delivered his header for John on my way back from the EXPO, as he was on the way.

-NAB20C5 ..I place my order back in december of last year!! but some things are different about my Hi-tech header than the one's that he is making for the Type-R's ...Mine has to fit into my JDM EF-8

-00ITR0757 ..How much did you gain and were was the biggest impact on power..?!! Let me know please Because I only have 400 km left to go untill the new bearing and pistion rings are all broke in then I can take it to the Dyno and pop out over 220hp at the wheels I hope ( new pistions rods header/ power fc )

Geez, You have to rit that into your ED8?...So no cross member problems eh?....Ok I don't feel so bad now, it's just that I understand that it takes time for quality, I just feel a lil pissed that I wasn't told this in the 1st place...I'm not sure what was said or promised w/ you <JDM_DOHC_SiR and 00ITR0757> and I know I've heard the sales pitch and what not, but I was told 3 weeks, and I knew better than that...I wouldn't mind the time if I was told the actual down time up front, so I wouldn't have to wait here anxiously....b/c my motor was MIA and honestly thought that the header would be finished before the motor, instead the opposite is true and I was goin through your deal 00ITR0757 in breaking the motor, but I have tached 3000+ miles and is still untuned and dying to get it tuned, but I can't due to the fact that i'm waiting for the header, I still have the stock one on there <totally killing the car>, can't dyno b/c the stock header will not bolt on to the 3 inch cat/exhaust, and i'm running open header for the last 2 months... haha....well I had talked to John about canceling and then I had gotten a toda header and went to the dyno and a friend of mine messed w/ my FC just so i can go past 4K w/ out detonating and the car made 184WHP and 138 lbs of torque @ 8K w/ out any tuning and the cams being set at 0...I was stoked just for the fact of hearing vtec again, since i havn't heard it in like a year in my car....so I'm pretty satisfied w/ the results and goin to go and find a muffler shop to weld my exhaust and weld flanges etc., and I get a voice mail from John saying that my header will be finished and sent out friday...this was last..last friday...so I give him a call and was told the same thing, so I eagerly sell the Toda in anticipation for the Hytech...a week goes by and no header, call up John and was told that he was welding the header right now and should be sent out this past friday...well don't get me wrong here, I'm REALLY not trying to vent, and John has been great answering my questions and what not in the past and real courteous, but come on if the header isn't goin to be ready for XXX amount of days or XXX amount of months then tell me up front about it, b/c I don't mind waiting which both you have so kindly illustrated....but it just irritates me that I was given a phone call, and went ahead and sold my header which i could have kept on the car and sold later on....well again I'm not venting....just a little frustrated....again before any one flames me or whatever...all i wanted was an honest answer and time expectation and of course I'm goin to keep waiting for this header

BTW, love to see those dyno plots and what your set ups are, Eric

Since the header took longer than we had expected to install when I was at Comptech we did not have enough time to tune the vehicle to the level that any of were happy with...we decided that our dyno time was cut short by 3 hours we did about 10-15 runs to tune in a safe A/F ratio, I am still wishing we had enough time to play with the cam gears and the timing curve...oh well had to get it up and running for the EXPO, I'll be taking it to a tuner sometime in a month or 2...I'm not doing any racing for a while, so I'm not stressed about having an untuned car...

Dyno Numbers...almost forgot to give you those, without the dyno sheet in front of me the only area that I remember is that over stock I have a gain at 8000rpm of 18hp, and at 8300 rpm I have a 35hp gain...TODA B's, Power FC, HyTech header, Carsound 54006 cat, and a Comptech cat-back exhaust, with the intake cam advanced to 3 degrees crank...remember untuned figures

NAB20C5
The next time that Jack is at the dyno with you he will have some more understanding of the PowerFC, we had some time to talk while at the EXPO and I had some directions in english for the RX-7.

Ive been waiting over a year for him to make mine. It seems that if you want one you have to go there personally and keep bothering him.
Dont get me wrong, he is a nice and knowledgeable guy, but he is a salesman. Hell he was making claims of this header making power before he even started making them. He had (has people)wanting the header before it was even proven that it makes power, saying that it makes power not only over the stock header but over any header out on the market. He probably has over $30000 in sales already on his wait list, before the product has even been produced.

Now, there are a couple of ways you can get his header shipped to you fast:
1. Go to his shop directly with money in hand (And hope that he has one there; than its yours)
2. Have a race team call him and get one for you (Must be well known in the racing industry)
3. Have a race shop call him and get one for you (Must be well known in the racing industry)
4. threaten him that you are going with another header maker because he is taking too long.

If you dont have 1,2,3. your probably going to wait at least another 6 months and than some to get one. He first tells me that he would start production after he finishes with his other "Race" teams. Next, he says he has to wait for Carb Approval (even though Ive been telling him I dont care about the stupid Carb number because many of the Japanese stuff isnt approved). Than he said they are still testing the header design (The truth is the finished design looks very much as the same design that he made for Skunkworks back 3 years ago) Now he says he is starting production. But wait, it is going to take 2 months to get the mufflers made.
Point number 4. might not work (because we are not a priority), but if we all do it he might hurry things along for the rest of us peons, because even if 7 of us go elsewhere(SMS?) to get our headers he will be losing about 10 grand in sales.

Also, I remember back when one reason for its costs ($900 by the way, now $1300 because he is such a smart business man) was because we each were getting a custom header for each application and engine mods. The truth is, we dont get custom anything. The street headers are all the same, no matter if you are a stock ITR, a 2.0liter, GsR, Hybrid Civic or whatever Bseries motor you have. There is only 2 header designs that he will make for us, the race version (which exists towards the side) or the street (which exists down the middle). The other real custom designs are reserved for the big name drag racers and well known race teams that will make his name look better so that he could claim that he has all the top dogs out there. He searches them out and gives them the headers free to try.

Hey Marlene,

When you're down there, can you ask John to send me my cat? maybe I'll get it a little sooner that way.

I have the whole system. My car was stock when i sent it to him. It gained 20hp/22tq. to the wheels.

This was with stock intake and filter, cam gears, v-afc, and John's complete street system. (header, cat., b-pipe, muffler.)

Noticeable gain downlow and vtec is alot stronger.

Only waited a week for mine but then again my car served as the prototype. I must say that the quality is first rate. I have pictures of the underside of my car and as soon as i learn how to post them i will. peace.

EP...I'm actually finding it quite humerous...now I just need to get someone to purchase the SPOON calipers for me at the Japanese retail price of 80,000 yen, which is $670 at today's exchange rate.
