Default radar detector that replaces rear view mirror

I live in a state where radar detectors are illegal so i was wondering if they made one that replaces the rear view mirror or something sneaky.

They don't make ones that replace the rearview mirror, but there are some setups utilizing the valentine 1's remote display built into the rearview. this however requires alot of custom work, or someone that's ownage with a dremel.

Not that I condone illegal mods...

pull the clock out:

Then take the guts out:

Now take your remote display and duct tape (use duct tape cause zip ties won't work here) your remote display to the clock cover:

Run the wiring like this:

from behind the clock, to where the cluster is, like this:

Daylight is where the opening for the clock is...this shot is from the cluster:

Now run the wiring down to behind the stereo to the module/connector thing supplied by v1...:

Put everything back together, and it'll look like this:

Will tuck away that V1 display quite nicely.

Or you could get a radar/laser jammer. Just an idea.

Yeah, they are for sure. But they gotta get a warrant before they can search your car for one, and in the mean time you can just take it out. They sell them at my local speed shop. I forget the name, Ill look for it.

Where is the actual V1 unit? Doesn't the actual detector have to have a clear line of sight to the front and rear windows, as specified in the V1 manual.

Dont pull that on Hiway patrol. Some one told me they use Photoelectric radars or something that can't be jammed....

or you could paint your whole car with Line-X so radar/laser signals couldnt be bounced back

I do believe the Valentine uses a remote antenna that you put in your
radiator grille? Anybody know for sure?
Maybe that was the old escort?
Radar detectors are illegal in a few states, VA, Connecticut, a couple of others I think. Maryland, maybe?
And I thinks some states have radar detector detectors, that can sniff out when a radar detector goes off. Or something high tech like that.
Again, anyone know for sure?

Yea and then some radar detectors can sense for radar detector detectors so they turn off when they get the signal. My BEL has it, its nuts. From what I've seen the V1 doesn't have an external antenna but you could put the V1 somewhere that the cops won't look for it like in your back window and you could cover the lights on it.
