I don't ever remember over tightening the spark plug but one of the spark plug will take 16-17 turns before it become a little tight. All of the other spark plugs becomes tight before 11 turns. Does this mean I have to get a headwork done? Is this something I can fix easily? I've been having some problem with my car and this could be the case...I set the loose spark plug to about the same turn for now although it's not too tight and not too loose which worries me.

Any help/suggestions is welcome. TIA

 

DOH! You're gonna have some trouble for sure. Did you make sure the head was COLD before you put your plugs in? What's going to happen is you're going to be driving down the street one day and the plug is just going to rocket out of the hole. It happened to me one in a Civic and I had to drive it about 5 miles like that, I plugged the hole with a whittled piece of stick haha.

Anyways what I did and it worked fine is this: I used a heli-coil kit from napa. You're supposed to pull the head to do it, but I just turned the crank until the piston was at TDC on that cylinder, then I drilled and tapped the heli-coil in, took my shop-vac and made a very thin tube for it, put it in the cylinder and sucked the shavings up. When I was done with that, I turned the crank until the exhaust valves were open, and I blew tons of air in to make sure there were no more shavings. Worked fine until I swapped the engine a few years later.

 

That's what I thought...how hard is it to take off the head if I were to? I'll go pick up a heli-coil kit. I needed one anyway.
