Starting to worry...
It seems like more and more Type-R's and GSR's are being stolen these days. Now I wonder about parts that people are selling on message boards and places like eBay. Ok, so maybe people truly are parting out their Type-R's because they are replacing an old part with something new. But you can never be sure. A few days ago I bought a Type-R strut bar from a guy on eBay that said he totaled his R in a crash. I asked him what number his R was, and he said he did not remember. Now how many people here would forget the number of their limited production car? How many don't know their number on their car? It is simple little things like that that make me wonder.

Yea that sucks. Websites like partstrader.com doesn't help much either. The next time I see someone posting a R part that could be hot you can bet I'll be grilling the seller on where the part came from and some ITR specific Q's. Especially if the seller is within a few hundred miles of NYC.
guaranteed that stuff is from a stolen R....
How did you pay for it? If you mailed him a check, I would forward the address to the local authorities to check it out...
That'll surprise the hell out of him....

Not to mention....how many type R's or other integras have you seen that have unbent strut bars after being totalled.
Did you end up buying it anyway? If yes, then you are possiby buying stolen merchandise....
If you are not sure if a part is legit or not, don't buy it!
Cheese~

I did meet an older lady at the expo (SHe let me driver her car on the track even) that didn't know her car had a number. She was probably 40 ish.

I wonder if car thieves ever sell chopped parts on the web to find new targets!?!... If you buy a Type R part and use a check (or maybe CC#), he now most likely has the address of another Type R owner! Makes me wonder how many owners of those who got stolen may have made a questionable purchase of parts from Ebay, etc. beforehand!...
Carlex, what did you do sweet talk the lady to drive her car, Rico Suave.
Anyway, yeah stolen stuff isnt cool at all, and paranoia often sets in. I know a lot of people when they order stuff they dont use their real address for shipping, and stuff like that. I also insist when i buy things, using cash, in person. I'll usually drive the minivan too
and not be near the car, so they cant get plate numbers or anything. I try to grill people about parts before even consider buying them, imagine how messed up it would be if your buying parts from your neighbor's stolen car

Actually, I was driving Speedpaks car. Suddenly the check engine light came on. I was due to take her some for a spin as she had paid for him to be a passenger and I told her no problem. I cam in with the check engine light on and told her that I wasn't going to be able to drive anymore.
"She said well here take my car just be careful but drive faster than I did, he will love it"
It handled great (It was bone stock so best I can figure is the tire pressure was just right).
