A friend and I have just installed a replacement engine and transmission (same as stock engine and trans) Its on a 1986 Prelude Si everything seems to run good but one thing. It doesn't shift from first gear to second till about anywhere from 3500rpm to 5000rpm then when it goes to second it immediately goes to third....tried adjust throttle valve cable but doesn't seem to be working. If anyone knows what might be causing this please respond...Any information will be helpful

Does it shift smoothly when it does shift? Did you change the ATF? ALso IIRC those had the sport shift or whatever they call it button to make it shift at higher RPM's if it does you might want to check that.
