Default 6.5 inch subs or really small/light speakers

I had a freind ask me about 6.5 inch speakers that play like 10 inch subs. He said they have a good range to serve as the front speakers for my EK. Is there anything like what my friend was trying to tell me?

Thanks

he's talking about a component set, 6.5 inch subwoofer or midbass driver and a seperate tweeter and crossover, they wouldnt sound like 10 inch subs unless you got a badass set of components and had an amp on them

There is a such thing as a 6.5 sub woofer, However, they do not recomend them to be used with a component set, because they wont play the mid range well. Usually people use them with cars with limited space, NSX, Porsche, etc... They will have a component set up front, for mids and highs, and for their rear fill place the subs in the stock location.

My buddy used TWO JL Audio 6W08s hooked up to an old POS MTX thunder 75x2 amp and had them in a slot ported box design JL told him to use in his 90 CRX. The Ratdio Shack digital SPL meter hit 121dB with music. This thing BUMPS. At first I though it was his pair of 10W6v2s in that undersized sealed box. People **** their pants when they find out it's two 6.5" subs.
