Default Highest Compression for B16A on Pump Gas?

I'm thinking about doing an all motor set-up for my with my B16A. I'm wondering what's the highest compression I could go with pump gas. This car is also going to be streetable.

I dunno, personally I wouldn't go above 11:1, just to be safe.

I'd go 11 to 1 with the stock fuel set-up. 13 to 1 I believe is just a little to high unless you can run 94 octane and nothing else. I'd go with 12.5 to 1, good tuning and premium all the time. 93-94 would be great.

Yeah, I figured 12.5 was a good limit, as far as tuning all I got now is a VAFC, what fuel management systems would you recommend for all motor?

11.5:1CR works good for me.
12.1:1CR pinged a lot on my setup.
Both were forged pistons.

primo...do you have a oil catch can? i heard these can help you avoid pining on motors w/ high compression such as yours

We got 93, and that's what I intend of filling my car with if need be. So far it sounds like 11.5:1 would be playing it safe. Question is, how high can I rev that motor up to?

you can rev as high as your head lets you.... but you need to make sure you make power up there also....

Yeah, no need to rev that high if you're not pulling any harder. Any recommendations on how to avoid this?

Right now I've saved for about 4k of mods. Haha, with the all motor route you can't be sure of how much power even that will buy. I'm looking into getting a stroker kit to start things off with.

Look at Toda. Think about it and then we can talk.

As far as red line, make power to 8500-9000

As far as ctr pistons, yes indeed, but as far as a stroker kit, I'm debating between toda and crower

How much do ctr pistons run for, what are their gains like compared other pistons, or a complete stroker kit?

haha your debating between those two choices...common bro you know TODAs better and just for pice of mind when your reving the crap out of it you won't have to worry as much. Now debating between JUN or Toda stroker kit is never ending..LOL

get the Toda 1.8 stroker kit for $2,400 then you'll have a 1.8 or just spend $500 on a use GSR block and rebuild it. To make a B16 as and NA you'll need higher compression (+11.8cr), with wild cams(jun3, skunkstage2, TodaC, ect), and atleast if not stroke it bore it out to 84.5mm, good I,H,E or you could just get a turbo and call it a day..LOL

dont pay some of the outrageous prices for stroker kits...if you want displacment, get a b18c block, bore it out to 85 mm, and you'll have a 2.0...much better than having a 1.8. and...the RS ratio will be better, and it'll be a hell of a lot less

hahah that was my point exactly. But some people might want to do that so that they can say they have a B16 all motor that makes +230whp and 140tq.... people will pop the hood and see the stamp and no nos lines and just be like WTF?
Also its nice to be different even if it does cost more..much like the the guys who go JDM

fugg that shiet...unless you have a sponsor, anyone who takes the "more expensive and less effective route" is a complete dumbass. i mean sheit...if you really wanted, u could easy have the the b18c shaved, and have it restamped. i've seen it done many times. i mean, if you still wanted the 1.8 liter from a b16, which is my plan, just take a spare b16, build it up to hell.... balance the crank flywheel all rotating parts. go w/ beefier and lighter rods, forged pistons, new rod bolts and the likes. you can have a complete high compression BULLETPROOF and balanced bottom end for no more than 2500, then you can swap it over to your car in about a day. buying spare blocks...its the way to go
