Default Is this turbokit worth 400 bucks?

A friend of a co-worker of mine has a turbo kit for sale which is currently on his A6 rex. It consists of the turbo manifold, an IHI turbo (im not sure what size it is or how many miles are on it etc.) but he has ran a 12.8 on 15lbs of boost with it. also comes with a 2nd gen dsm intercooler which he has mounted behind the passenger side headlight assembly which is completely hidden. Also come with some piping and all but it seems like the main parts of the turbo system. He also offered to help with installation since i am not familiar with turbo setups. Anyways, if i were to do a turbo setup it would have to be a daily driver setup running about 7-8lbs........ what would u guys recommend for fuel management? would a S-AFC do the trick? would i have to get aftermarket injectors? any input would be great........ im sure this topic was covered before but im more or less interested in opinions......... thanx

You should also post this in the Forced Induction section. They might be able to answer your questions also.

Find out how many miles are on the turbo or if it leaks oil or if there is any shaft play. As for fuel, a SAFC hack and some DSM 450s would do nicely. Be sure to get a boost gauge and an EGT gauge. Also be sure to get a BSPT or BPST whatever(dont use a NPT fitting cause Honda's arent) fitting for your feed line. Does it include a BOV and is it internal or external wastegate?

Good Luck

Blaze

Would you ask him how he stuffed that intercooler behind the passenger light and let us know? did he have to cut anything?

Its actually more like underneath the headlight and i believe i have seen some ppl on the net do it this way before............ basically it is where your cold air extension would got down behind the bumper.......... he says the IC pipe sticks right out of the hole where the extension would go down.

i will get more answers from him later on this week. he also offered to let me run the car down the 1/4 mile.
