Default rear suspension gangsta-leaning!

OK guys, my '89 Si has been making a distinct clunking noise when going over bumps in the pass. rear area. I noticed that the car is also sitting a little higher in the same area. I can barely fit two fingers between the wheel well on the driver side and on the passenger side I can fit three fingers no problem. Whats the dilly yo? I've got Illuminas and eibach sportlines in the rear with a mugen sway bar.

Thanks Guys

I have the same exact problem. I have H&R race springs and on the drivers side its tucked in and on the passenger I can almost fit 2 fingers in the gap. So I took off both rear wheels and the side that was higher "Passenger side," the top part "shaft" or whatever its called was much longer than the lower side "driver's side." So I guess the previous owner must of replaced it with the wrong strut. In your car check for that, or check and make sure the spring is on right, and seated in correctly.

wait, you're saying that this could be a problem with the strut?

I'm guessing it was the wrong application. I havent messed with it ever since. And no its not making any noise. I'm just gonna run it like that till I get a good deal on some good shocks.

Are there any tricks to re-seating the springs?

whenever i jack up my car, the springs become unseated. try to adjust them so when you lower the car, they aren't crooked.

Actually, i was thinking that this was the problem. Do you just move them around with your hand when the car is in the air?

i run GCs so they pop right back into place once i hit a bump in the road (if they don't sit properly). but you can move them into the right place by hand. just don't mess with them when lowering the car off the jack.

another tip is to zip tie them to the top hat so they don't move around when the car is jacked up.

Awesome! when I have a chance I'll do the zip-tie trick.

Do you think the clunking noise is unrelated?
