Just for fine, I was looking at possible tires for next year for the R, and on tirerack they now offer the Yokohama A043 in 205/50-15. Has anyone had experience with these? I thought these were the stockers on the Evo, but I'm not positive. If they are, for $87 each, seems to be a pretty fair deal.
The Evo Lancer come with A046s. They look similar to Azenis... the A043s look closer to something like an Ecsta MX. I did a bit of searching for info on A043s... didn't find much. They seem to be popular with MR2 drivers... I think they might come as OEM tires on some UK MR Spyders.
most of the drag radials if not all of them...i might have it at home..i need to look..although i think i saw it at the magazine stand at the grocery store...

Drag radials eh? Hmm...I'm looking for a track tire, not a strip tire, so this might be useful. If they had real soft sidewalls or something, I'd just pass. What magazine was it?

sorry for being so vague..Yokohama make great tires..these tires are basically tires made for the track but are DOT appoved. there not really drag radials, there more autox tires. if i have the money id get them!

A043 looks more like a replacement for the A520 (had those on the Prelude, noisy but very decent for a street tire). Even the tread pattern look similar. But 160 treadwear and 10/32 tread definetevely doesnt sound like an R-tire though...

Well, I'm not looking for a straight-up R-compound, more something comparable to the Azenis (though that's not too far from an R tire I hear). This warrants further investigation...
