remote starter goes crazzzy
i am looking for the remote starter box and i cant find it any where. i just want to disconect it, or cut off the power to it or something. unless the alarm will not work with out it. the starter will try starting the car some times but does not work really and i dont need it any ways, so does any one know how i can discontect it and still use the alarm. it is a gsr engine in a civic. and the thing drives me crazzy when it trys to start the car
any idea what the wire might look like the only thing going from the distributer is the harness and the wire that taps into the harness from the msd ignition
there should 1 wire on the distributor that hooks up for the alarm system... you need to find that.. and it might be actually hooked up near the firewall area.. depending on who installs it but usually there 1 blue wire that hooks up to it
Look for a wire that connects to your distributor. It should be a wire connected to a dark blue wire on your distributor harness with a t-clip. Sorry, i would take pics but my digi cam got stolen from my car
Another thing is that even tho you take out that specific wire, your remote start will still activate when you push it on your alarm pad. What will happen is that the engine will start and then shut off after about 5 seconds. Just go to good guys and tell them you had your car alarm installed there a couple years back and you want them to shut off the auto start.

So this remote start is preferably better removed? I can see why sometimes you could trigger it and the car mistakenly left in gear, bad things would happen no doubt.
