do a search

the two options are to get the most hp are (as fas as I know that accord was an EX with an LX engine)

Turbo the F22B2

Swap a H22a in there

you can do Intake Header and Exhaust but you are not gonna be anywhere near the power output of the above two options...

you can do whatever your little heart desires, but if you do the swap i'd highly recommend swapping in a manual h22 tranny at the same time, if not to have a manual then to have an all around better transmission, but to each his own.

if you go turbo there are some advantages to having an auto, but you'll be putting alot of extra stress on it and if you race alot it wont be long before it starts to slip.

nitrous if you dont have that much money...
h22 turbo if you got money..

i/h/e and other bolt ons are a waste of money on a f22

Just leave the car alone

My friends Prelude is slow, runs mid to low 15s so with the Accord your looking at about the same time or even a little slower depending on your weight, etc

I went from a Type R to a 97 Accord LX and wouldnt think of modding the car unless you could safely get it into the 13s at least

You could but ask yourself whats the point?

When you go to resell the car you wont get your money back out of it and most people would be leary of a modified car, especially a complete engine swap

Just use the car as a daily driver and save up for a civic hatch to do an engine swap in or something considerably lighter

you can actually make an accord pretty fast. the 5th gen accord was the last year the car was under 3000 lbs. 2point6 has a four door accord 4th gen running in the low 13's high 12's. That pretty fast espically considering he is NA. A brand new vette runs 12's so to get an accord to run near a vette is pretty good. I bet there are a lot of guys here that have fast accords. If you like your car then do what you want to it. Who cares about resale, if you were so worried about resale then you should never upgrade for more performance.

Z06 runs 12s
Regular C5 runs 13s

You could make the argument that you could make a school bus run 12s with enough money but again whats the point? He'll spend more than the value of the entire car to make it run 13s to 14s

If you want to hack up a 4 door family sedan so be it

Man, you don't get it. Everybody knows that a corvette or a mustang is a fast car; they're SUPPOSED to be fast. Taking a car that isn't supposed to be fast and making it fast is COOL. Enthusaists don't modify their cars based on resale value; if your worried about resale value, find another hobby.

Like I said, I could make a school bus fast and yes I understand the value of a sleeper. If thats your cup of tea then so be it but most people here who want to make their car fast say they want to go all out but end up spending $700 on I/E and expect it to go from 17s to 14s

I would love to see a 12second school bus, that would be a good one. The point of working on a car is for the fun and pleasure of it. Alot of us in here actually put a lot into our cars, not just I/H/E. This site is designed to make your car run and run well. Mabye you should find another hobby since you are so against anyone with an accord making it fast. I would bet there is at least 50 accords in here that are running 13's to start. And to answer your question the c5 vette runs HIGH 12's and the Z06 runs low 12's. Those people are also spending 50 to 70grand on those cars. People work on honda's and other car's because they have just as much potential to become pretty fast. Have you ever checked out BTCC or any of those for that matter. Everyday cars.

Save your money for a jspec H22, auto to manual. Don't skimp on your suspension, whats the point on having power if you have shitty handeling. Personally, i'd go turbo after that, but to each his own. If you love you car, then hook it up. If you just using it till you get a "better " car, then just get the basic i/h/e.

i would leave the car stock until you get a swap or turbo. your car is barely putting out 100hp right now. if you get i/h/e, cam gear, pulley, intake mani, fuel management, tuning... etc.. you'll barely get like 120-125hp. thats good enough to pull you a high 16 or 17 in the 1/4 mile. and you gonna spend close to $2000 for all that. get a swap for like $2200-$2400 (i got mine for $1800) and right there you'll have about 170hp the the wheels w/ way more potential. i got a h22 turbo putting out close to 300 hp... its all worth to me. i didnt even touch the f22, pulled it out when i got the chance.
